Beware the stage that will transfix the world!
In the Edmonton neighbourhood of Old Strathcona, a multitude of bizarre and inexplicable events are afoot. One thing is certain: the Fringed possess powers far beyond those of ordinary mortals. For 31 years, they have come from around the city, the country and the globe, transfixing mild-mannered Edmontonians of all ages with more than 1,400 theatrical performances (of 180 different unjuried and uncensored plays), plus busking acts, children’s activities, vendors, artisans and visitors.
You shall not escape The Village of The Fringed!

In honour of the 30th anniversary of the Fringe, the festival producer, Fringe Theatre Adventures, has launched a collaborative exchange with the Art Creation Foundation for Children (ACFFC) of Jacmel, Haiti.
Throughout the 11 days of the festival at the KidsFringe, 10 young artists from ACFFC will perform folk stories and vignettes about growing up in Haiti. Marty Chan, playwright and author of children’s books, will assist in their development, along with playwright/storyteller Tololwa Mollel.
Fringe Theatre Adventures’ Director of Operations Mike Ford, along with local author Patti McIntosh, traveled to Jacmel to prepare the kids for their Fringe experience.
